Black Swan Productions is the brainchild of Rodin JS Kumar—writer, philosopher, composer, bandleader, accountant and impresario—whose influences range from mythology, symbolism, ancient Greek thought and Vedic philosophy to the Baroque and Renaissance, from modernism to postmodernism, and from contemporary cinema to design and technology. The work is a braid: classic craft, contemporary voice, and forward‑looking tools.
It began with the KL International Jazz & Arts Festival in 2011. What started as a celebration of live music performance and art exhibitions grew—branch by branch—into composition and arranging, live concerts, recordings, and the production of dance, theatre, and musicals.
Now, in the age of artificial intelligence, Black Swan Productions is advancing a new format where storytelling recombines with music, dance, and theatre that bridges jazz, classical, and contemporary performance. From groundbreaking concerts like Black Swan Rises to cross-disciplinary collaborations, our work celebrates bold artistry that resonates with audiences worldwide. We call it the Neo Gen Movement—an artistic renewal for the AI era, a modern echo of renaissance humanism. The aim is simple and brave: use technology to amplify human presence, not replace it.
